Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 11, 2026
HA-Nest-API is a private, personal integration that connects Ray's self-hosted Home Assistant to his own Google Nest thermostat using Google's Smart Device Management API. This policy explains what data it uses and how.
Data accessed
With the account owner's permission, HA-Nest-API accesses Nest device data such as thermostat state, current temperature, humidity, mode, setpoints, fan and eco settings, and device names and structure.
How data is used
This data is used only to show and control the owner's own devices in his self-hosted Home Assistant. It is not used for any other purpose.
Sharing
No data is sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising, profiling or analytics.
Storage and security
OAuth tokens and device data stay in the owner's own Home Assistant installation. They are not sent to or stored on any other server operated by this project. This website does not use cookies, scripts, trackers or analytics.
Google API Services
Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Revoking access
Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or by removing the Nest integration from Home Assistant. Removing the integration deletes its stored tokens.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
